Happy Hanukkah!!!
Jelly doughnuts are traditionally eaten during the Jewish festival of Hanukkah, are especially popular in Israel.
Serves 10
Ingredients
1 pounds farmer cheese
2 eggs
4 tablespoons flour
1 cup semolina
1 teaspoon soda powder
1 packet vanilla sugar
1 grated lemon zest
strawberry jam (or another jam)
sour cream (optional)
Directions
Combine the cheese with soda powder, eggs, vanilla, semolina, lemon zest and flour in a bowl and mix well.
In a nonstick deep fry pan add oil like 2 cups or more over medium heat until hot.. Form dough balls and make a hole in the middle of the ball with your finger. If the dough is sticky use same oil on your hand to form the dough balls. Fry until are golden brown on both sides. Remove the cooked donuts with a spatula and let them drain on paper towels or cooling rack.
Serve with jam and sour cream.
